Terms of use

The short version

Unleashed is a player. It plays radio stations, podcasts and your own music straight from where they are; it does not own, host or sell any of that content. You can use it for free; Pro is a one-time purchase through Google Play or the App Store. Use it for your own listening, and don’t use it to get around its limits or anybody’s rights.

Using Unleashed

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Unleashed on devices you own or control, for your own, non-commercial listening. You may not:

• copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app, or present it as your own;
• modify it, or reverse-engineer it to get around Pro, the free version’s limits or the desktop activation, except where the law allows this anyway;
• use it to record, rebroadcast or publicly perform what you listen to;
• use it in a way that breaks the law or anybody’s rights.

On iPhone and iPad, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies; these terms add to it. Apple is not responsible for Unleashed or its support.

On Android, buying Pro is also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service; these terms are your licence to use the app itself.

Free version, trial and Pro

• For the first three days you can use everything. After that the free version keeps working with the limits described on the app’s page and in the app.
• Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription. It is sold and paid for through Google Play or the App Store, under their terms; we never see your payment details. Refunds, and in the EU the right of withdrawal for digital content, are handled by the store under its rules.
• Pro pays for the app’s features, not for access to any particular station, podcast, directory or lyrics, which are run by others and may change or disappear.
• Pro stays with the store account you bought it with: use “Restore purchase” on a new phone.
• If a purchase is refunded or revoked by the store, Pro and the computers activated with it are switched off.

The desktop app

Unleashed for Windows and macOS is free to download and is unlocked from a phone with Pro. One purchase covers up to three computers at a time; you can remove a computer from the phone to make room for another. An activated computer checks in with our activation server from time to time and keeps working for up to 60 days without internet. Activation may stop working if the purchase behind it is refunded, or if the app has been modified to get around it.

Content you listen to

Unleashed is a software client: it connects from your device straight to the stations and to public directories and services run by others, and shows what they return. It does not host or store their streams, metadata, covers or lyrics on servers of its own, and holds no rights in them.

• Radio stations and their broadcasts belong to the broadcasters. Unleashed plays each stream directly from the station’s own address and does not record, store or rebroadcast it. Stations decide what they broadcast and may change, move or stop their streams at any time; we cannot guarantee that any station is available.
• Station lists come from Radio Browser and the SHOUTcast directory, and podcasts from Apple’s iTunes Search, Podcast Index and the shows’ own feeds. These are third-party services we do not control; we are not responsible for their content or availability.
• Streams and feeds you add yourself, and the music files you play, are your responsibility: only use content you have the right to listen to.
• Some content may not be lawful to receive in every country; follow the law where you are.

Lyrics

When you open Live Lyrics, Unleashed looks up the song playing at that moment in LRCLIB, a third-party community database, and shows what it returns, credited to it. Unleashed does not store or sell lyrics; they belong to their authors and publishers. Lyrics may be missing, incomplete or wrong, and the feature may change or be switched off.

Lyrics are shown on screen for your personal, non-commercial use while you listen; Unleashed gives you no right to download, archive, republish or otherwise reuse them.

Names, logos and covers

Station names and logos are trademarks of their owners; Unleashed is not affiliated with or endorsed by any station. Logos of stations without one of their own may come from Wikimedia Commons (each under its own licence), TuneIn and the Google and DuckDuckGo icon services. Album covers, podcast artwork and episodes belong to their owners.

If you hold rights to something shown in Unleashed

If you own lyrics, a logo, artwork or other content that appears in Unleashed and want it changed or no longer shown, write to legal@inglyph.com with what it is and where it appears. We will act on it promptly. Stations and podcasts are listed by the directories above, so they may also need to be removed there.

Your data

How Unleashed handles your data is described in its privacy policy. Your favourites, settings, Studio designs and backups stay on your device or go where you send them.

No warranty

Unleashed is provided “as is”. We work to keep it reliable, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suited to a particular purpose, nor that any station, podcast, lyric or other third-party content will be available or accurate.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Inglyph is not liable for indirect or consequential damage, or for loss caused by third-party content or services, arising from your use of Unleashed. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Pro. This does not apply to damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

Ending

You can stop using Unleashed at any time by uninstalling it. We may end your licence if you break these terms, for example by getting around the activation; your statutory rights are not affected.

Changes

We may update these terms; the new version is published on this page with a new date. If a change matters for how you use Unleashed, we will also say so in the app or on its page.

Law

These terms are governed by Romanian law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live. If you are a consumer, you can also bring a claim before the courts where you live.
